Two boys, destined by fate to look exactly alike, are born within minutes of each other in 16th century London. One is Edward Tutor, Prince of Wales. The other: Tom Canty, the son of a hardened improverished peasant. Years later, a chance encounter between the two youths leads to a friendship - and a decision to trade places to see how the other one lives. Unseen complications and rousing adventure are the result.
