During the 1956-57 television season, Guy guest starred in 4 episodes of the police drama, Highway Patrol, which starred veteran actor Broderick Crawford. Below are screen captures from and plot descriptions of Guy's episodes. In this episode, Guy plays Officer Hanson, who assists when Dan Matthews (Broderick Crawford) orders roadblocks to cutoff the escape of three robbers who held up a small coastal town bank. Anticipating roadblocks, the well-organized bandits abandon their car and head for the beach dressed as fishermen. To eliminate any witnesses to their escape, the trio assault a skin-diver, leaving him for dead. When the diver is found alive, he provides the Highway Patrol with the clue they needs to link the bank robbers to the assault. The police set a trap for the robbers, using information from previous crimes. Two children playing in the sand, are in harm's way when the bandits and police both close in on the beach. In order to keep the children safe, Dan acts alone to keep the robbers from reaching their boat and is nearly killed in the process. In this episode, Guy plays an officer named, Barney who is helping Dan Matthews (Broderick Crawford) to solve a case involving murder and a missing pilot. A small plane makes what looks like a forced landing, prompting a forest ranger to call the Highway Patrol. When Dan and Barney arrive, they find the plane empty. The body of the forest ranger, who'd been murdered, is found nearby. Their investigation reveals that the plane is owned by a racketeer. When Matthews and Barney find the crook, they discover another murder that is tied to the ranger's death. All screen captures on this page are courtesy of Tammy Keller.
